Context
One solution for sustainable transport is that we all help provide it together. In this project we were asked to design a platform for action where Danish citizens could create a cooperative partnership with DSB and provide a new sense of ownership to sustainable transport solutions.

The industry project partner was DSB Design Vision Lab represented by Mikael Fuhr.

What is the service
EnviroKit is a service which provides schools with a platform and set of tools that enable teachers to implement new participatory methods of educating children about sustainable living habits.
The service creates a communication loop between the teachers, children and parents, enabling grass root actions.

Why is it valuable
Our aim was not to change the world in one big step, but about collaboration and inspiring people to make small changes everyday. The tools were designed to allow the children to learn intuitively through observing, and allowing them to make their own decisions. As well as the toolkit that is supplied to the schools, the service also has another main touch point. The enviroKit website provides an informative portal for teachers to learn how to adapt their existing tools to teach children about new areas of social responsibility and wellbeing. As well as providing for the teacher and children, the website also provides a platform for the parents to see what their children have been observing and provides tools such as “Co2 friendly travel route planner” to encourage parents to make more ecologically-friendly choices.

Experience Prototyping
To prototype the experience we designed an example tool called the Detective Game. The core value was to teach children to observe and understand what is right and wrong, and to see if the children would raise dialogue with their parents about what they observed.

Creating this experience prototype was the result of a previous test where one mother told us: “the real incentive for me would be if my child came home and asked me, why do we drive a range rover to school when we can walk or ride our bikes”. Carrying out an experience prototype was a crucial tool for us during the development of our service, it allowed us to instantly find missing touch points in the user experience we wanted to provide and the experience prototyping often turned into a co-creation session where we gained new ideas and inspiration.
