My name is Eilidh Dickson. In June 2007 I graduated from studying Innovative Product Design Bsc (hons) I feel my education has allowed me to become a hybrid designer that has the ability to evaluate and creatively use technology in a design context as well as sensitvely and critically assess the needs of people to design better product and services that have a positive impact on our changing society. Below is a little more about my skills and experience.

Present-September 2009: CIID (Copenahgen Institute of Interaction Design) Pilot Year

Student

During this year i will recieve an accelerated course in Interaction design. However the pilot year is much more than
just recieving education it is a platform for co-creation, to create, prototype and test a new Ma in Interaction design, in
affliation with DKDS (Denmarks Designskole)

April-September 2008: Co-designing solutions to improve patient experience in Wigan Renal Unit (NHS)

Insights/Service Designer

This self run project involved working along side the patients and frontline staff to co-design solutions and implement them in Wigan Renal Unit. The aim was to improve the patient and staff experience within the Renal Unit.

November/December 2007: thinkpublic, Public Service and Communication Design, London

Work Placement/Junior service designer (freelance)

During this time I worked on projects for clients such as the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement. My work consisted of designing and producing research tools for workshops and co-design events that would generate information from users and front-line staff, prototyping and visualising ideas and outcomes, using creative thinking to generate concepts, carrying out and compiling user centred research, designing websites, graphics and products to engage people with current projects and working to increase awareness of public services and the remarkable work they do..
